Dear Julia,
You’ll never guess what
(happen). Our lovely new car has been stolen!
One day the week before last, Hugh went out to the beach for a swim and as usual he
(hide) the car keys in the toe of his shoe. When he came out of the water, he
(not notice) anything suspicious. It didn’t look as if his clothes had been touched. When he started to put on his shoes, however, he
(realise) that the keys
(take) and when he got to the car park, of course, the car was gone too.
The police say there is a gang of car thieves who
(know) to be operating in this area. They think Hugh
(watch) as he arrived at the beach. The thieves saw where he
(park) his car and then where the keys were hidden.
It
(be) almost two weeks ago and although we hope our car
(find) we’re beginning to think we might never see it again!
So that’s my news. Write soon and tell me about your new job.
Love,
Rocio
