Winter is a nice season. Some people like summer or autumn, but others like winter. December, January and February are winter months. But in some places winter begins in November and ends in March or April. The nights in winter are very long, and it is dark when we get up in the morning. The days are short.

Зима-прекрасное время года. Некоторые люди любят лето или осень, но другие любят зиму. Декабрь, январь и февраль-зимние месяцы. Но в некоторых местах зима начинается в ноябре и заканчивается в марте или апреле. Зимой ночи очень длинные, и когда мы встаем утром, уже темно. Дни здесь короткие.

The ground, the fields and the trees are white with snow. Sometimes it is very cold, and people put on their warm clothes when they go out. A lot of icicles all glittering in the sun hang from roofs of houses. Everything seems to be covered into a white blanket. Rivers and lakes are covered with a thick ice and you can skate on them.
Winter is a jolly time for children. They make snowmen and play snowballs. When the weather is fine children and grown-ups go skiing, skating or sliding down the snow covered hills.
It is also a season of loud celebrations, as there are many holidays during winter days. We celebrate Christmas and New Year and these are my favourite holidays of the year. As you see there are many reasons for me to like this season.

Земля, поля и деревья побелели от снега. Иногда бывает очень холодно, и люди надевают теплую одежду, когда выходят на улицу. С крыш домов свисает множество сверкающих на солнце сосулек. Все, кажется, покрыто белым одеялом. Реки и озера покрыты толстым льдом, и по ним можно кататься на коньках.
Зима-веселое время для детей. Они лепят снеговиков и играют в снежки. В хорошую погоду дети и взрослые катаются на лыжах, коньках или катаются по заснеженным холмам.
Это также сезон громких праздников, так как в зимние дни здесь много праздников. Мы празднуем Рождество и Новый год, и это мои любимые праздники в году. Как видите, у меня есть много причин любить этот сезон.
