Mr. Small said he saw the man was very old.

The old man agreed. He said he was 90.

Mr. Small asked the old man whether he could give the children there some advice about a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

The old man said that they had to follow his example. He advised them not to smoke or drink, not to eat too much sugar or fat but to drink lots of water.

Dr Foam asked another man how old he was.

The man said he was 95.

Doctor Foam asked the man whether he could tell them why he had lived so long.

The man said that was easy. He neither smoked nor drank and always did exercise. Also he spent a lot of time in the open air and he was a vegetarian.

Mrs. Bulmer asked the third man whether she might ask him a couple of questions.

The old man allowed her.

She asked him why he had lived for so long.

The man said he did not know the answer.

Mrs. Bulmer enquired what his lifestyle was.

The man said that he smoked thirty cigarettes a day and drank a bottle of whisky daily. Sometimes he also had two bottles of beer. He never ate vegetables or fruit but lived on chocolate and cakes.
