A Trip Across Great Britain
My name is Nataliya. I am a student of the Department of State and Municipal Management of Kansk Polytechnical College. One of my favourite subject is English. English will not be my profession (though who knows!), but it is my hobby, I am interested in it very much. I think everybody who learns English must be interested in it, its history, people living in the country.
I hope that some day I’ll visit the Great Britain by all means, it is my dream. Sometimes I imagine how I’m travelling across the country, especially across England to Scotland.
My trip Iwould like to begin from the Chalk Country (Dover) which is the gateway to England. This part of England is not only beautiful, it is saturated with English history. There are some ancient castles, fortresses and the fashionable and the popular seaside resorts. This part of the country is associated with Charles Dickens. I could visualize his heroes: the horse – drawn coaches, the ladies in the pretty bonnets, their gallant cavaliers …
As I am a student, I would like to see Cambridge and Oxford with their rich student’s life, special educational system (I mean tutors), the traditional sports competitions, especially boat race “Cambridge and Oxford”.
