Everything that I write here, had really happened to me very long ago, in August of 1968. I and four of my colleages participated in a scientific Conference in the Unversity of Ulan-Ude, the capital of the Buryat Republic of the USSR.
The next day after we had done our reports, we took a train and went to the south-west end of the Baikal Lake. We slept in a classroom of a school near to the lake, stood up very early and went to the fishermen, who were already pulling their fish nets from the water. The nets are very long, and to pull them out from water, it is needed at least 5-7 persons, and the process durates about half an hour. We helped the fishermen and got some fish as a gift from them. We got omul, salmon and other wonderful fish. The people were very friendly and polite. We made a little campfire on the shore and prepared a fish-soup. Nothing in my life was so tasty!

Baikal fishing is not only a type of leisure, it is also a brand for a fisherman.
Baikal is famous for its fish recourses. The famous omul, whitefish, grayling, spike, perch, Siberian roach, dace, and more than 50 kinds of fish related to 12 families inhabit Baikal.

It is not surprising that there are popular fishing contests at Baikal due to its picturesque sceneries, different fish and kinds of fishing. And you can go to Baikal just to fish.

A Scottish government-funded body has a plan in place if the Loch Ness Monster should ever be found.
Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) prepared the "partly serious, partly fun" code of practice in 2001 amid a period of intense interest in Nessie.
This year's interest has been piqued by scientists gathering DNA from the loch, and Scotland's first minister saying she believes there is a monster.
SNH said it would "dust off" the plan if Nessie was discovered.
The code of practice was drawn up to offer protection to new species found in the loch, including a monster.
It stipulates that a DNA sample should be taken from any new creature, and then it should be released back into the loch.

Lake Baikal, in eastern Siberia, is a miracle of nature. It’s the deepest lake on Earth and it contains more water than all the Great Lakes of America put together. It’s also the oldest lake on Earth and, after more than 25 million years, Lake Baikal is still growing at a rate of 2 cm a year. However, facts and figures fail to describe the breathtaking beauty of Baikal. The water is crystal clear, and when you can see the shimmering stones on the bottom of the lake it’s hard to believe they’re so deep down. But then this tranquillity can easily become a tempest. As the lake changes its mood, the wind rises and huge waves begin to roll across the surface.Озеро Байкал в Восточной Сибири является чудом света. Оно является самым глубоким озером на земле и содержит больше воды, чем Великие Озера в Америке вместе взятые. Оно является также самым древним озером на земле и спустя более 25 миллионов лет озеро Байкал все еще увеличивается со скоростью 2 сантиметра в год.
