In Ukraine, the Luhansk region is one of the three leaders in air pollution. We live in one of the most environmentally unfavourable areas.
The main culprits of environmental problems are industrial facilities.Out of 1,500 enterprises in the Luhansk region, a thousand are a constant threat? It is their activities that lead to emissions into the environment. Thanks to them, we breathe air in which there are "extra" dust, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide and dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, phenol, methane, formaldehyde and many other terrible names of different chemical compounds.Another of the most dangerous and acute problems is the problem of placing industrial and household waste, the storage area of which is increasing every year. Cities of the Luhansk region are not provided with enough vehicles, fuel, and as a result,the formation of unauthorized dumps. The main garbage is taken to city landfills, many of which are subject to closure. Garbage is collected near roads, on the territories of enterprises, in forest plantations. At present, household waste is less and less different from industrial waste. In everyday life, such substances are used that, entering into chemical reactions in garbage dumps, lead to the release of toxic substances, including dioxides. There is no scheme for cleaning the territory of cities from numerous dumps, since there is no special transport, funds, and nowhere to take out the accumulated tons of waste.
