Dangers
•Television can mace us passive. We don’t have to think and our brains become lazy.
•It encourages us to buy things that we don’t need, and can make us unhappy with our own lives.
•It takes time away from activities such as reading, conversation, and games.
•It gives a false picture of society. A study in 1994 showed that people who watched a lot of television are more afraid of crime. They also think that there is a lot more crime than there really is.
•Some critics say that television makes people violent. A ten-year study in the United States showed that children who watch violent television programmes are more likely to be violent themselves

I find this topic stupid and dull. How can you be for or against television? It's just a source of info, along with internet, books, newspapers. Information is neither good or bad. Television is neither good or bad. It can be useful or harmful to a person, depending on what kind of programmes that person watches, the total time he spends on this, etc. I mean, you don't need to watch tv all day. There are tv programmes and guides available, so that you know what you want to watch. It is our personal responsibility to regulate all this. Tv doesn't always show just crap, there's always some educational stuff on.
