I study in the gymnasium. I am in the ninth form, just 3 years away from taking the final decision on my future job. It seems that the moment of making this crucial decision is far ahead and I have plenty of time to choose a profession, but in fact it's not far away. And I have to start thinking right now when I still have some time to take everything into account and to weigh all pros and cons.
Choosing a career is one of the most important choices any person makes in life. In my opinion it is an advantage to choose a future profession while being at school because it gives you a goal in studies and enables you to choose the right, suitable course of study. I won't stretch the truth if I say that when young people leave school they face the problem of choosing a career, that's the time when they have to decide what they are going to be in future. You don't need to hurry making a decision. You should examine your abilities and character very thoroughly, take a realistic view of your strengths and weaknesses, pay attention to your parents' and friends' advice and take into account your own preferences. The latter is especially important because there are a lot of examples when people make great mistakes choosing their future profession. Sometimes they either simply follow in the footsteps of their parents or relatives or just blindly follow their advice. The profession of the parents often in this or that way influences the future profession of their children. Your choice should be mostly based on your own opinion. Family traditions are good, but your turn of mind may be quite different. So, never base only on other people's opinion.Your own inclinations and interests should top the list of factors that influence your choice.

Nowadays there is a great variety of jobs to any taste. And it goes without saying that all professions are of great use and importance. Still, all professions can be classified as prestigious or not prestigious, well-paid and badly-paid, physically hard and mentally hard, stressful and stressless. And you have to consider a lot of things when choosing a future career - payment, promotion prospects, hours of work, working conditions and working environment, in other words, everything that will determine all your future life: your values, status, circle of acquaintances and your ability to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
Work plays such a large and important part in our lives that people often define themselves and others by what they do. That's why it's so important not to make a mistake, but to get your priorities right. As for me, I think that the most important factor in choosing a profession is a sense of achievement and satisfaction that a job may give you. A person can get job satisfaction only in case he or she feels that all his/her hopes and ambitions, needs and aspirations are realized and achieved, which is possible only if a person opts for a job to his or her taste and interests, taking all other aspects into a account. Confucius, the Chinese philosopher, said "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." I think this quote shows a very wise approach to such a difficult problem as choosing a job.
Frankly speaking, I haven't made up my mind yet as concerns my future profession. I mean that I'm not 100% sure which way to choose and what I'd like to be. But I'm absolutely positive that my future job will fully comply with my interests and inclinations. I can't imagine myself doing something I take no interest in only for the sake of money.
