«Lemon Tree» (рус. Лимонное дерево) — песня немецкой поп-рок-группы Fool’s Garden из альбома «Dish of the Day», выпущенная синглом в 1995-м и ставшая основным международным хитом в 1996. Сингл достиг 26-й позиции в британских чартах и несколько недель держался на первой позиции в Германии. Также достиг первой позиции и в Ирландии, где Dustin the Turkey даже выпустил пародию на песню под названием «Christmas Tree»; кроме того, четыре недели сингл продержался в чартах Нидерландов. Певица Тарси Су (англ.) выпустила каверы песни и на мандаринском, и на кантонском диалектах китайского языка[4].

I saw your discussion about the song Lemon Tree by Foolsgarden and could not
imagine how this could sound like Sting until someone mentioned a different
version "Sting-Lemon Tree" which could be found on the internet. I've downloaded
it and from the first bars I recognized this voice. I was on stage with this guy
in June in Koblenz, Germany. I listened a few times more and no doubt about it.
So I've sent him the file and he said it was a studio job about 10 years ago,
that he has never heard the final result and that he was surprised about all
the discussions. Anyway the guy is Stephan Maria Glöckner, a friend of
mine, who covers Sting/Police from time to time besides his other main musical projects.

His main thing is a Latin Pop style band called Menino based in Germany.
They had some success in Germany, produced a DVD with the Weather Girls and
even toured Brazil and did (still do) support for streets kids over there.

IMHO he get's close to Sting, so close that an average audience (not maniacs
like us here ;-)) cannot hear the difference, but I can clearly hear the difference
between the both. I think it's not so important how close you actually get (apart
from the idea to make a perfect cloning like others do), more important is,
what you make out of it, what you can combine with your own elements, styles etc ...
or to say it in "Stinglish" what you can learn and use for your own from it.

The band recorded a new version of the song in prior for their 2009 release High Times - The Best of Fools Garden. The singles "Wild Days" and "Suzy" were also re-recorded for this album.
