like all is the one who is good...
it is good that demanded and implemented - the work of his highly paid, he love and adore, as a consequence...
conclusion: help mom to understand themselves - their strengths/weaknesses, capabilities, which will help it to be in this place, in this country, in these conditions...

патриот - тот, кто любит свою Родину, страну.. .
любит все это тот, кому там хорошо.. .
хорошо тому, кто востребован и реализован - труд его высоко оплачен, он любим и обожаем, как следствие.. .
вывод: помоги маме понять себя - свои сильные/слабые стороны, способности, которые помогут ей реализоваться в этом месте, в этой стране, в этих условиях.. .

как, как - назначь ей нормальную зарплату,
почини дороги вокруг своего дома,
поменяй правительство и тогда она тоже полюбит свою страну.

Maybe when you'll be in your mom's age you won't be patriot any more.

You can't ask someone to be like you, you accept them (her) as they (she) are (is).
If you are patriot, dose not mean that tou are correct person:) Put your self in her place, you might understand
