In total 120 years ago scientists at all did not suspect that among primitive people there were gifted artists and masters. These artists managed to transfer shape and character of animals, to represent them in "original". Deer drew sensitive and guarded, mammoths - powerful and strong, with a high nape, horses - fast and prompt. Was the pictures representing animals, amazed with spears and bleeding profusely much. Primitive people were afraid of the natural phenomena. The natural reasons of such forces of the nature as a thunder-storm, people did not know flooding. They believed that between animals and those images, which created, there is an inexplicable supernatural communication. People thought, that if on cave walls to represent deer, bisons or mountain rams live animals under the influence of supernatural forces become bewitched and will not leave surrounding district. Having drawn the animal amazed with a spear, it is possible to become successful on hunting.Supervision over several tribes of Australia during the long period of time have helped scientists to solve sense and value of cave painting. Hunting and collecting were the main employment of the Australian tribes. But before beginning hunting, they made a magic ceremony, driving in in the animal spear drawn on sand.

In same time at people the belief that people wonderfully can turn to animals has arisen, and those will turn in turn to stones, plants and other inanimate objects. Such beings generated by imagination of the primitive person, are called as turnaround. They as though help or harm to people. By means of such images people tried to explain the phenomena surrounding and occurring round them....

Всего 120 лет назад учёные даже не подозревали о том, что среди первобытных людей существовали талантливые художники и мастера. Этим художникам удалось передать облик и характер зверей, изобразить их в “оригинале”. Оленей рисовали чуткими и настороженными, мамонтов – мощными и сильными, с высоким затылком, коней - быстрыми и стремительными. Много было картин, изображающих зверей, поражённых копьями и истекающих кровью. Первобытные люди боялись природных явлений. Естественных причин таких сил природы, как гроза, наводнение люди не знали. Они верили в то, что между животными и теми изображениями, которые сами создавали, существует необъяснимая сверхъестественная связь. Люди думали, что если на стенах пещеры изобразить оленей, бизонов или горных баранов, то живые звери под воздействием сверхъестественных сил станут заколдованными и не уйдут из окружающей местности. Нарисовав поражённое копьём животное, можно добиться успеха на охоте.

В это же время у людей зародилась вера в то, что люди чудесным образом могут превращаться в животных, а те в свою очередь будут превращаться в камни, растения и другие неодушевленные предметы. Такие существа, порождённые фантазией первобытного человека, называются оборотными. Они как бы помогают или вредят людям. С помощью таких образов люди пытались объяснить явления, окружающие и происходящие вокруг них.
