The New Year
(Новый год)
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Ring out the old, ring in the new, (Отринь старое, прими новое)
Ring, happy bells, across the snow: (Звените, веселые колокольцы, над снегом: )
The year is going, let it go; (Год уходит, пусть идет; )
Ring out the false, ring in the true. (Отринь ложь, прими правду.)
щас сочиню парочку специально для вас) )
new year comes,
new suns rise
birds are singing
bells are ringing
happy, happy, all together
let us greet the new year sweetly

The Joy of Giving
~John Greenleaf Whittier
Somehow, not only for Christmas,
But all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others
Is the joy that comes back to you;
And the more you spend in blessing
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart's possessing
Returns to make you glad.
Christmas
~Anon
Every time a hand reaches out
To help another....that is Christmas
Every time someone puts anger aside
And strives for understanding
That is Christmas Every time people forget their differences
And realize their love for each other
That is Christmas May this Christmas bring us
Closer to the spirit of human understanding
Closer to the blessing of peace!
Let Every Day Be Christmas
-- Short Christmas Poems --
Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself.
(Written by Norman W. Brooks)

A Christmas Wish
-- Short Christmas Poems --
I'd like a stocking made for a giant,
And a meeting house full of toys,
Then I'd go out in a happy hunt
For the poor little girls and boys;
Up the street and down the street,
And across and over the town,
I'd search and find them everyone,
Before the sun went down.

Candlelit Heart
-- Short Christmas Poems --
Somewhere across the winter world tonight
You will be hearing chimes that fill the air;
Christmas extends its all-enfolding light
Across the distance...something we can share.
You will be singing, just the same as I,
These familiar songs we know so well,
And you will see these same stars in your sky
And wish upon that brightest one that fell.
I shall remember you and trim my tree,
One shining star upon the topmost bough;
I will hang wreaths of faith that all may see --
Tonight I glimpse beyond the hear and now.
And all the time that we must be apart
I keep a candle in my heart.

Christmas Is Here
-- Short Christmas Poems --
A good time is coming, I wish it were here,
The very best time in the whole of the year;
I'm counting each day on my fingers and thumbs
the weeks that must pass before Santa Claus comes.
Then when the first snowflakes begin to come down,
And the wind whistles sharp and the branches are brown,
I'll not mind the cold, though my fingers it numbs,
For it brings the time nearer when Santa Claus comes.

A Happy New Year !
The day is so clear,
The snow is so white,
The sky is so bright,
We shout with all might:
A Happy New Year!
