Nowadays smoking is getting the most important global problem all over the world.Modern society,including even women and teenagers,can't imagine their living without cigarettes,that's why they spend all their money on satisfaction of the necessity.But should smoking be completely banned?
Let me deal with the negative side of smoking.It is known, that smoking cause endless list of many different diseases from bronchitis and asthma to lung cancer and heart diseases.Moreover,smoking reduces life expectancy by 7 - 8 years and damages human’s health.Every year lots of people die from lung cancer. To look globally, the tobacco smoke pollutes our atmosphere and it leads to serious ecological problems. Arart from this,a smoke-filled room is also bad for non-smokers and pregnant women,who have to breathe in the smoke.
On the other hand, It's not a secret,that some people,who has different problems, can relax only with the help of cigarettes.They often can’t give up smoking. A further point is that governments throughout the world make huge profits from levying taxes on cigarettes. This provides funds which are used for building schools, hospitals and other public amenities.In case of banning smoking government would lose a lot of income from taxes on tobacco.
In my opinion,our world would be a better place without cigarettes. However, the decision as to whether to smoke or not should be for each individual to make. All things considered, I’m for banning smoking because it badly effects humanity especially young generation.
