Lomonosov, MICHAEL VASILYEVICH (1711-1765), the Russian educator, the scientist-Encyclopaedist, the poet, the translator. Was born on November, 8th (19) 1711 in St.-Petersburg, in village Denisovka, in a family of the peasant-pomora.
Went with the father on courts for fish to the White sea and Arctic ocean. Has early learnt the reading and writing and by 14 years has read all books which could get. In December 1730 has left with a fish transport to Moscow.
In January 1731 Lomonosov, having given out itself for the son of noble family, has arrived in the Moscow slavjano-Greek-Latin academy where has received good preparation on classic languages and other humanities. And in the beginning 1736 as one of the best students Lomonosov has been directed to university at the Petersburg academy of sciences, and in the autumn — to Germany, in Marburgsky university.
Russian scientist M.V.Lomonosov takes a special place in the history of Russia. It has reached the greatest achievements in physics and chemistry area. In honour of it named great institute-institute of the Name of Lomonosov.
