The Internet is an essential part of our lives. Everything and everyone are connected through the world wide web. People normally criticize the Internet. They point out that chatting or playing online games wastes your time. I would like to defend the web and explain how it saves our time.
Let's have a look at how we study nowadays and compare it to how people used to study. If I need to do a report on some topic, I just run an online search and get all the information I need. If I am not sure how to spell a word or what it means, I can find it out instantly with the help of the Internet. When I need to read a book, I download it and I can read it anytime. When my father was at school, he had to go to the library to prepare a report. What is more, he had to find the right books first, and then look for the information he needed there. It could take hours to do homework like this. My father looked up words in dictionaries, which was also time-consuming. He could only read paper books and some rare books were only in the library. I hope I made it clear how much time the Internet saves modern students.
It's not only the school where the web makes things faster. We don't have to go to the bank to pay our bills. We use e-banking now. We don't have to cook or go to the restaurant if we are tired. We can order food delivery online. We can shop for anything around the world with the help of the Internet. We don't have to wait for weeks to hear from our friends and family. We can communicate in real time with the help of different online platforms.
All in all, the Internet saves us time greatly. It is an extremely useful tool to organise our life and make it much more comfortable.

Today modern technologies give us lots of useful instruments. And one of them is the Internet. Some people claim that it makes them waste their precious time and dependence on the Internet might become a new plague for modern generation. But others admit that the global net helps them to save the time every day. So who is right?

To my mind, the Internet is the best time-saver. First of all, you can immediately find necessary information because you don’t have to go to the library or a shop: you can find films, books or music at home or at work. Secondly, the Internet helps connecting people from different parts of the world: you can keep in touch with your family or friends any time. Moreover, many people use the net to pay their bills online, make online appointments to the doctor or do online-shopping. Some people can also work from home now. Actually we save our time and money on travelling to different offices.

However, there are people who state that the Internet often suggests unreliable and false news and articles. Indeed, everybody can write and share through the Internet whatever he wants or thinks. In fact, there are people who create wrong information on purpose. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that working with information is an essential skill for everybody and we should always search for the primary source of information with the help of the Internet.

To conclude, I would like to say that the Internet is just an instrument. In my opinion, it can be a time-saver for those who work and a time-waster – for those who want to relax surfing different social networks, watching countless pictures, dealing with unnecessary e-mail messages or visiting chat-rooms. It depends on your purpose.

По моему мнению, интернет – это лучшая экономия времени. Во-первых, мы можете мгновенно находить необходимую информацию, поскольку вам не нужно отправляться в библиотеку или магазин: вы можете отыскивать фильмы, книги или музыку из дома или на работе. Во-вторых, интернет помогает общению людей из разных точек мира: вы можете поддерживать связь со своей семьей и друзьями в любое время. Более того, многие люди используют интернет для оплаты своих счетов онлайн, записи на прием к врачу онлайн или для онлайн-покупок. Некоторые люди также могут теперь работать из дома. Вообще, мы экономим время и деньги на передвижениях в различные учреждения.

Однако существуют и те, кто утверждает, что интернет предлагает зачастую ненадежные и ложные новости и статьи. И в самом деле, любой может написать и поделиться в интернете всем, чем захочется или о чем подумается. Существуют даже люди, которые намеренно создают неверную информацию. Несмотря на это, я твердо убежден, что работа с информацией является необходимым навыком для каждого, и нам всегда следует находить первоисточник информации при помощи интернета.

В заключение, я бы хотел сказать о том, что интернет – это лишь инструмент. На мой взгляд, он может быть средством экономии времени для тех, кто работает, и средством пустой траты времени – для тех, кто хочет отдохнуть, сидя в различных соцсетях, просматривая бесконечные фотографии, перечитывая ненужные электронные письма или посещая чаты. Все зависит от вашей цели.
