I have a friend that I really respect and care about. He is a wonderful person, but unfortunately he started smoking and drinking alcohol heavily a couple years ago. I tried to reason him, make him quit his bad habits but he won't listen. Then I turned to science and tried to explain the devastating effect tobacco and alcohol abuse have on our mind and health, quite often leading to such awful diseases as cancer and cirrhosis. Eventually, my friend seemed to believe the unpleasant facts i presented him. He gave up smoking, and drinks only on special occasions.

One of my friends has bad habbits. He smoke, drinks alcoholic drinks. In a while, if he continues doing so, he'll face lots of health problems, even lung cancer, or probably people will unwillingly communicate with him. But if he quits his bad habbits and goes in for sports, his health will become better, and people will communicate with him gladly.
У одного из моих друзей есть вредные привычки. Он курит и пьют алкогольные напитки. В скором врмени, если он продолжит этим злоупотреблять, он столкнется с проблемами со здоровьем, вплоть до рака легких, и у людей пропадет желание с ним общаться. Но вот если он откажется от вредных привычек, займется спортом, его здоровье улучшиться, а окружающие к нему потянутся.

One of my friends, Peter, is a great guy, he is the person I can put my trust. But he has in my opinion one of the most harmful pernicious habits - he smokes a lot. I have already explained to him that if he didnt stop smoking he would fall ill with lung cancer and die. It seems, that my terrible explanations managed to make him change his mind:I havent seen Peter smoking for a couple of months.

I have a friend, he is a very good person, but he has a very bad habit- he smokes. If he give up this habit he won't have problems with his health. also he won't spend money for cigarettes. It'll be very useful for him.
