Now, Moscow is one of the largest cities in Europe. Its total area is more than 9 hundred square kilometres and still is growing up. The population of the city is about 9 million people.
Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin and Red Square.
There are a lot of beautiful places, old cathedrals, churches and monuments in Moscow. Now Moscow is being reconstructed, becoming more and more beautiful.
There are more than 80 museums in Moscow. The largest museums are the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the State Tretyakov Gallery. Other unique museums are the Andrey Rublev Museum of early Russian Art and many others.
Moscow is famous for its theatres. The best known of them is the Great Opera Theatre. Drama theatres are very popular too.
There are over 80 higher educational institutions, including several universities; the most famous of them is MGU, Moscow State University.

The capital of Russia is located on the Moskva River in the European part of the country. The area of Moscow is about 2,511 square kilometers (2012). The city is divided into 12 administrative districts. The population of the capital is about 12 million people (2015).

Moscow is a great city where the old and the new are harmoniously exist side by
side. There are lots of things to see when you are in this city, like Red Square, the
Kremlin and the Bolshoi Theatre. The buildings, the events and the people are all
amazing!
You can get to Moscow by train. Or you can arrive in the city by plane. The oldest
and one of the biggest airports in Russia is Vnukovo airport. It is over 70 years old
and it’s a wonderful place with a big glass ceiling.
There are a lot of hotels to choose from. One of the best hotels is the Moscow hotel
in the centre of the city right in Red Square!
Red Square is one of the most important places in Russia. It is very large and it is
near the famous landmark in Russia: the Kremlin. Near the Kremlin is Saint Basil’s
Cathedral. It is one of the most famous buildings in Russia. It is over 400 years old
and is very beautiful. It is called Saint Basil’s because of Basil the Blessed (Vasily
Blazhenny).
After Saint Basil’s, where is the next best place to visit? The Bolshoi Theatre of
course! It is one of the most famous theatres in the world. It is very beautiful, almost
like a palace. It is over 200 years old and its dancers are some of the best. The show
Swan Lake is the most popular. There are lots of public squares near the theatre where
you can enjoy ice cream and watch passers-by.
Travelling around the world is the best way to see new places and meet new
people. Moscowisn’t a placetomiss!
