School- how to behave when in school
Study of good manners is a life-long process. Yet school plays an important role in that long process of making gentleman out of us.

Punctuality
Make it a point never to arrive late at school. If you ever noticed it is nearly the same boys and girls who make a last minute dash and come in breathlessly to find their place in the assembly. If you are late for class, don't make straight for your place, nor loiter near the door, but approach
your teacher, bid him the time of the day with correct form of address-Sir, Miss, Sister- and ask to be excused. Do not invent an excuse. Remember unless you get rid of this habit now, it is going to become a serious social handicap for you when your school days are over.

Behavior inside the classroom
As soon as the signal for the glass is given, go with the others to your classroom and take your seat quietly. Actually, this can be done without the usual poking, tripping or kicking you companions on the way. In the absence of teacher conduct yourself like a gentleman.
When the teacher enters the room, stand up respectfully and keep standing until the teacher takes his/her seat or when you are asked to sit down. Stand up in respect when spoken to or questioned by the teacher. Stand up straight. Answer in a clear, distinct and sufficiently loud voice, so that the whole class as well as the teacher can hear you. If you miss a question, do not answer at random, but ask politely to have it explained. If you need to ask something first raise your hand then stand up and ask in a polite manner when allowed to.
While writing, keep your paper or copy book straight before you. You may rest your right fore-arm on the desk to give your hand steadiness, and keep your left hand on your paper or copy book to prevent it from moving. Always keep your elbows off the desk.
Scrawling on walls or doors and carving on desks or chairs is an unhealthy practice. Eating in a class is also a reprehensible habit.
Pay attention at what is being taught. Do not talk when the class is on, if, however you need something desperately from your neighbor, ask for it in a whisper or with a calm gesture. Do it openly and not furtively when your teacher's back is turned. Shouting, hand clapping, pounding of desks do not belong to a classroom decorum. Serious study requires an atmosphere that does
not profit from such boisterous manifestations of joy. Laughter is in place when something really funny takes place or is said, but keep your laughter always under control.
Never laugh at the mistakes of fellow students. You either know the answer or you not. If you do, you gain nothing by calling attention to his error and if you do not, you should be using your energy to find the answer rather than laugh at another student's error. Besides your indiscreet laugh may have serious repercussions on the mind of that particular student.
It is not polite to interrupt a person in a conversation anywhere. It is much more so when the speaker is a teacher and the place a classroom. Do not argue in a class. You will at times ask questions that the teacher may not answer satisfactorily, no matter how hard he tries. Either he hasn't understood your question or you haven't understood his answer and no amount of talking
back and forth in the class will solve the problem. Psychologically it is not the right place for it and it is not polite for you to keep arguing the point in the class. Your classmates become restless and the teacher is restless. Everyone feels that the time is being wasted. Even if the teacher does
not want to cut you off by a curt remark, you should sense the atmosphere in the class and end the discussion. Later on you can, and really should, go to speak with the teacher privately about the point.
