Лучше скажите так:
I would like to talk about the VIRTUES and SHORTCOMINGS of that trip (о положительных и отрицательных сторонах поездки).
4. FIRST OF ALL / FIRSTLY (во-первых), all the members of the party except the children's mother got seasick.
5. BESIDES (к тому же), poor Nancy was very frightened, and she was groaning and TREMBLING troughout THE trip (на протяжении всей поездки).
6. These were the SHORTCOMINGS of the trip (это были отрицательные стороны поездки).
7. But there were some VIRTUES too (но были также и положительные моменты).
8. For example, there WERE a huge number of children, and of course they were having fun.
Выражение a number of согласуется с глаголом во множественном числе, а the number of требует глагола в единственном числе (e.g. The number of people we need to hire is thirteen. A number of people have written in about this subject).
9. Also they travelled around Oslo and met with their relatives.
10. I think their trip was very interesting and pleasant.
