Arrival in the city of Tessaloniki, capital of Northern Greece or Macedonia. Company MOUZENIDIS TRAVEL met us very hospitable. Then we moved and placed to hotel. There was a free time.
After a breakfast we went to Antique Ellada. There was excursion in the first capital of Macedonian kingdom - the city of Verginu with visiting of museum where exhibits of a Macedonian imperial, and also group of tombs, in one of which Phillip's II remains, father Alexander the Great. Finally under the program - a stop at bottom of legendary mountain the Olympus, monasteries of antique gods.
Mount Olympus is the tallest and most prominent mountain in the Greece. It was explored in 1774 by the Spanish explorer Juan Perez. In 1778, on July 4, the British explorer John Meares gave the mountain its name, Olympus.
Olympus - the mountain of Gods, a mythical home of the ancient Greek Gods and Goddesses! Miraculous Mount is the highest mountain in Greece. It is 2,919 metres high!
The monastery catholicon is dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin. The name Damandri is taken from a small Byzantine village, the ruins of which are very close to the monastery; the village is mentioned in a Metropolis Codex from 1567 to 1652.
In 1977 archeologists had found out an imperial tomb nearby to Virginy. In one premise have found a marble sarcophagus, where bones and a skull of the man of average years. Reconstruction have not a right eye. It is known that Phillip in fight has lost the right eye so, the found remains belong to it.

Corinth Canal - Canal in Greece, which connects the Saronic Gulf of the Aegean and Ionian Seas Corinth Gulf. The name was in honor of the city of Corinth, located at the western end of the channel. The length is 6 km, width 24 m, depth 8 m. The walls of the channel of natural origin, walls reach the height of 75 meters. Spread via a railway and three road bridges
•We visited a building of Parliament with a tomb to the Unknown Soldier and a guard of honour, the Presidential palace, Panafinejsky stadium, and, certainly, the Acropolis - one of 20 most significant world monuments. Anybody and can resist nothing beauty of the Acropolis. It thin balance of white columns of Parthenon standing against the blue sky. After that we leave the south of Greece and we come back to the north, in the city of Tessaloniki.
