This is a story
All about how
I went to school
And I said “wow”.
I had a class
Of 3rd grade children.
It was so silent
As I entered the buildin’,
I thought they’d gone,
‘Cause I was late,
To meet the principal,
I was afraid.
The school seemed empty
No children in the hall.
I was in a hurry
And didn’t pay attention to the wall.
I didn’t notice that on the right
A curtain was keeping something out of my sight.
As I walked on
The curtain trembled,
And from behind it
The kids assembled.
They started shouting in my face
And yelled “surprise” to my disgrace.
I stopped amazed and started shaking,
I just said “wow”,
My voice was trembling.
The kids were happy,
They’d made a prank.
The teacher was speechless
We must be frank.
