Помогите с артиклями английского языка!

I got a letter from a friend yesterday.
He's a student and lives in Moscow.
We spent our holidays in Moscow last year and had very good time there.
We swam in the sea and sunbathed two or three hours a day.

Только в Москве моря-то нету...

P.S. Перед неисчисляемыми существительными (вода, молоко, время - нельзя же сказать - три воды, два молока или четыре времени) артикли не ставятся. A - от one, - один из числа.. ,некий; the - от that, - тот самый, тот о котором уже было упомянуто.. .
Но есть ещё куча исключений! Говорят "the Pacific", или "the United States" - подчёркивая, что это НЕ нечто из ряда, а нечто единственное в своём роде.
Пример: если бы у Земли было 5 Лун, то о любой из них сказали бы " a Moon" , а так как только одна, говорят "the Moon".
