С 1 января 2009 года размер ежемесячного пособия на ребенка составляет 249 руб. 14 коп.; повышенный размер пособия составляет: * на детей одиноких матерей- 498 руб.28 коп.; * на детей, родители которых уклоняются от уплаты алиментов, детей военнослужащих, проходящих военную службу по призыву, на детей многодетных матерей (многодетных отцов) - 373 руб.71 коп.; По состоянию на 1 мая текущего года на учете в органах социальной защиты населения области состоит 154212 получателей ежемесячного пособия на 206930 детей. До 1 января 2007 года ежемесячное пособие по уходу за ребенком до 1,5 лет назначалось по месту работы службы, учебы. Органы социальной защиты населения назначали пособие только женщинам, уволенным в связи с ликвидацией предприятий, учреждений, организаций. Размер пособия составлял 700 рублей независимо от числа детей, за которыми осуществлялся уход. Граждане, которые не относились ни к одной из указанных категорий, право на это пособие не имели. С 1 января 2007 года дополнительно право на ежемесячное пособие по уходу за ребенком до достижения им возраста 1,5 лет предоставлено неработающим гражданам. Размер пособия составляет: * 1873,10 руб. по уходу за первым ребенком; * 3746,2 руб. по уходу за вторым ребенком и последующими детьми. В случае ухода за двумя и более детьми до достижения ими возраста полутора лет размер пособия суммируется. На 01.05.2009 года в органах социальной защиты населения области состоит 16974 получателя ежемесячного пособия по уходу за ребенком, общая сумма выплаченного пособия составила 183,9 млн. руб. В соответствии с Законом Саратовской области "О мерах социальной поддержки многодетных семей в Саратовской области" многодетным семьям предоставлено право на: дополнительное единовременное пособие при рождении третьего и каждого последующего ребенка - 2372 руб. 94 коп (независимо от материального положения семьи).

Since January, 1st, 2008 more than twice (about 100 rbl. to 225 rbl.) the base size of the monthly birth grant provided by the Law of the Saratov region "About a monthly birth grant to the citizens living in territory of the Saratov region" is increased.
Since January, 1st, 2009 the size of a monthly birth grant makes 249 rbl. 14 copeck; the raised size of the grant makes:
* on children of lonely mothers - 498 rbl. 28 copeck;
* on children which parents evade from payment of the alimony, children of the military men passing a military call-up liability, on children of mothers having many children (fathers having many children) - 373 rbl. 71 copeck;
As of May, 1st of current year on the account in bodies of social protection of the population of area 154212 addressees of the monthly grant to 206930 children consist.

Bodies of social protection of the population granted the allowance only to the women dismissed in connection with liquidation of the enterprises, establishments, the organisations. Citizens who did not concern one of the specified categories, had no right to this grant.
Since January, 1st, 2007 it is in addition right on the monthly grant on care of the child before achievement of age of 1,5 years by it it is given idle citizens.
The size of the grant makes:

* 3746,2 rbl. on care of the second child and the subsequent children.
In case of care of two and more children before achievement of age of one and a half years the size of the grant is summarised by them.
