У тебя одна большая ошибка - ты переводишь не слишком удачные русские фразы дословно, вместо того, чтобы их изменять так, чтобы легко можно было перевести.
Ну вот я подчистил текст, чтобы читалось лучше. Вообще надо, чтобы все времена были в одной плоскости, если начал в прошедшем helped, то и все остальное должно быть в прошедшем. А если одно в прошедшем, другое в настоящем - это плохо. В общем, можешь сам заменить все на настоящее, если хочешь.

My favourite film is Forrest Gump. I prefer meaningful films among different types of films. And this film is one of them. Also I like (the) acting, especially I like the acting of Tom Hanks. I have seen the film many times. It is a drama about a man from the fictive city of Grinbow, State of Alabama. His name is Forrest Gump. The film begins with the childhood of the main character and finishes when he gets his son off to school. Forrest Gump is sitting on a bench at a bus stop and telling the story of his life. His IQ was only 75 but he could run very quickly and it helped him to enter the University of Alabama. His ability to run helped him to become one of the best sportsmen of the USA. After he graduated from the university and went to the army of the USA. He was sent to war to Vietnam. There he rescued a half of his platoon and became a hero. He became very famous. He received the Medal of Honour, the highest military award of the country from the hands of the president.

И еще, не надо путать британский и американский английский.
favorite, honor и movie - это американский
favourite, honour и film - это британский английский.
А еще мой совет - пишешь про американский фильм - найди статью про него в интернете и спиши что-нибудь. Про Форреста Гампа - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest_Gump

Слегка непоследовательное изложение, но это не к английскому. А так для начинающего - неплохо. Времена бы еще подучить.. .
