In 1996 in Scotland the geneticist from Roslinskiy institute Yen Wilson published an article. In this article he told about the first successful cloning. It was the story about the sheep Dolly who absolutely repeated the genetic code of the other sheep. The geneticist had been working for more than two years. Nobody believed that he would be able to make this work successfully. He was making his experiment very carefully. At first he took somatic (body cells) cell of some sheep, then he took out karyon(nucleus) and then put this karyon in a gamete of other sheep. There were 270 embryos in the experiment. Unfortunately, the cells began to die. 4 months left only 34 cells survived and for the seventh month there were only five embryos and 4 of them were born dead.
The world was shocked by this discovery which was a real achievement for a modern Genetic Engineering. But in 1996, the society could not accept this development. Especially the church was negatively infusions on cloning. After the success with Dolly, the Scottish government, and many other countries have banned any action on human genes because it can be very dangerous. Today scientists cloned only some cells and organs. They predicted the first human clone the world will see after 10 years. Today only a few scientists cloned cells and organs. Another scientist, who helped in the experiment with Dolly is going to get a dinosaur in his DNK. Dolly lived for 7 years and died of the disease, because her cells were older than the normal animal
