1. "How do you like your course, Sarah?" Jane asked.
Jane asked Sarah how she liked her course.

2. "I didn't like it at first," Sarah replied. "I'm really enjoying it now."
Sarah replied that she hadn't liked it at first and added that she was really enjoying it then.

3. "Why did you have doubts about it?" Jane asked.
Jane asked Sarah why she hah had doubts about it.

4. "Well, there was too much reading, and none of the other students seemed very friendly," Sarah said. "But now I've got used to it and I like it a lot. Do you like your course?"
Sarah explained that there had been too much reading, and none of the other students had seemed very friendly, adding that she had got used to it and (that) she liked it a lot then. Then Sarah went on to ask Jane if she liked her course.

5. "Well, the course is all right, though I'm not as interested in History as I thought I was," Jane said.
Jane replied that the course was all right and confessed that she wasn't as interested in History as she had thought she had been.

6. "Why don't you study something else, then? What about studying English?" Sarah said.
Sarah suggested that Jane should study something else and suggested studying English.

7. "That is A really good idea, Sarah. Then we could help each other with our work," Jane said.
Jane exclaimed that it was a really good idea and added that they could help each other with their work.
