Why is so good to have a smal painting workshop at school
I don't know why they all love to shove the lessons withs the visual arts :drawing, painting watercolor, on leather batique et cetera et cetera. Maybe because it doesn't requier a student to do anything by somnolently "work" on theri hightly creative models and nobody says "it's a kind of crap"? There was a time when making a portrait appeared to be very complicated and technologically hard job. It was a couple of centuries ago. Since then humankind invented photography, digital photography and digital pringing. Anybody (if she is not a total jerk) can make anybodies portrait on the hight quality paper for less than 5 pounds and 15 minutes.
Nowadays civilisation and technology took over human clumsyiness and stupidyty and created us a good product. So why on Earth we still need smear our hands in colours and draw naive lines and figures? No reason why. No reason at all.
Regards,
Alek
