Everybody was very busy as great preparations WERE BEING MADE for the party. 
We watched from an upstairs window carriages ARRIVE 
The guests WERE WELCOME by their host and his housekeeper 
Adele hoped that Mr.Rochester WOULD CALL her down to meet the guests when they all ARRIVED but in the end she got so tired that she FELL asleep very early. 
Those WERE cheerful, busy days and the old house HAD never SAW so much life and activity 
Mr.Rochester and Blanche always RODE together. 
Observing them closely, i FELT very sure that he WOULD MARRY this fine lady very soon though it was obvious that he HAD not GIVEN her his heart.
