There is only existence aimed at some mythical welfare. The actions take place in the far future where people are diprived of any ability to express their emotions because they are...forbidden. This is a high price the mankind has to pay for the life without wars. NOw books, art, music are outside the law. And any feelinf is a crime, the punishment for which is death. To have the existing rules fulfiled they force people to take some special medecine called "librium". The government agent John Preston fights against those who break the law. One day he forgets to take the regular dose of the medecine and it causes spiritual transformation in him which leads to the confrontation with himself and the government.
The film is good indeed: wonderful acting, a breathtaking plot and great special effects.

Once, he misses a doze of the drug and suddenly begins to FEEL, which leads him to challenge both himself and his bosses.
In fact, the movie is awesome due to excellent acting, a breathtaking plot and quality special effects.
