Some people think that you can master the language only if you study it abroad, in the native speaking environment.

Do you agree? Can you give some advise to pupils, who want to become fluent in a foreign language without visiting the country?

native speaking environment seems to be a very important factor. but the priority is given to personal capabilities and talant (it is possible to use this word here). There should be a complex of factors which would help to master the language. Look around - there're a lot of people (native Russians) in Russia who speaks very poor Russian. Don't you agree? It's not a pleasure but this is our reality... So you have more than enough opportunities to learn any foreign language here. Good luck!

I can only partly agree to that. I have seen many people abroad, who came from Russia, and if they hadn*t learnt the language before coming there, they could speak only 10 - 12 phrases.
I think one should learn the language with a good teacher at home first, then maybe master it abroad,
Small children are exeption. They learn foreign language in the same way as they learn their mother tongue. It could be in the native speaking environment then.

In general, it's correct, you need to practice anyways. You would not be able to do that without using the language constantly. But how you can do this among Russian speaking people.

I don't agree. I am pretty sure that it is quite possible to become fluent without visiting A country. Just read a lot and you will get fluency both in Russian and in English.

People who think so are damn right. At least you should hire a personal tutor.
I fully agree with that. But you can chat with the native speakers.
Not always, it depends on the person who's learning. My friend goes to London every holiday to improve her engish but she still can't speak fluently cause she's lazy... And it's boring if u have one tutor: it's better studying and speaking in groups.
