Екатерина Басова В последнем предложении, может, лучше сказать "talented enough to perform on stage"
(а то "to play" как-то не даёт представления, о какой игре идёт речь). И ещё, после "the idea" я бы поставила "of earning a living". Как вы думаете?

Ghirstwood didn't think Сarrie was talented enough to perform on stage but considered/found the idea of earning a living that way quite rational.
