В далёкой-далёкой галактике жил Доктор. Доктор — путешественник в пространстве и времени. Доктор обладает нечеловеческим интеллектом. Выглядит как человек, но относится к расе Повелителей Времени с планеты Галлифрей. Доктор — последний Повелитель Времени. Лишённый своего дома, он спасает другие миры, в том числе и человечество. У Доктора есть спутники - Эми и Рори Понды. В качестве способа передвижения Доктор использует ТАРДИС - живую машину времени и одновременно космический корабль. Тардис больше внутри, чем снаружи. И сейчас я расскажу вам об одном из его путешествий.
Однажды ТАРДИС приземлилась на борту пиратского корабля XVII века. Поначалу команда не приветливо относиться к доктору и его спутникам. Пытаясь спастись, Рори случайно получает рану и на его руке образуется черная метка. Разузнав о том, что на корабле происходят очень необычные вещи, Доктор пытается помочь. Членов экипажа похищает загадочная Сирена. Любой, у кого появляется незначительное повреждение или травма, на ладони этого человека появляется чёрная метка. Сирена приходит из воды, завораживает моряков своим чарующим пением и забирает их с собой. Доктор думает, что Сирена перемещается через воду. Доктор просит команду спрятаться в сухом месте, но на корабле это невозможно. Билл – капитан команды просит доктора эвакуировать их с помощью тардис, но из-за сбоя тардис улетает. Позже на корабле происходит еще несколько нападений.
Доктор понимает, что Сирена появляется из отражения чего-нибудь. Доктор разбивает все вещи содержащие отражение и выкидывает всё награбленное золото в воду. Доктор делает порез на руке.
Сирена перемещает их на невидимый космический корабль. Доктор и Эмми находят экипаж корабля, который умер от человеческого вируса. Затем они находят весь экипаж. Эмми находит Рори, а Доктор находит ТАРДИС. Оказывается что Сирена - медицинская программа, которая ухаживает за пострадавшими людьми. Чёрная метка же - образец ткани. Эмми убеждает Сирену освободить Рори. Они отсоединяют его от аппарата жизнеобеспечения и уносят его в ТАРДИС. Тем временем, Билл и его экипаж решили остаться на космическом корабле.
