Within the genre of the psychological thriller the storyline often features a person in some situation, which usually ends in disaster.
Dame Daphne du Maurier was an English auther and playwright.Many of her works have been adapted into films. One of the best examples of this is the psichological thriller "The birds". This story was published in 1952.And,in 1963, this story was filmed by Alfred Hichcock.

It mains characters is a farmer,Nat Hokin, and his family. They live in a small town. Nat Hokin has two childran. One day,he notices that the birds in the town started to behave very strangely and aggressively. Birds began to attack people. After that,Nat Hokin, spikes all windows in the house,so the birds could not get inside. One day, they still get into the house and he has to kill them to save their children. He warns about the danger of the neighbors,but nobody belives him. After a while it turns out that the birds are attacking across the Britain. People all over the world begin to die. The story ends in the middle. We don't know, what will happen next. We can only guess.

The book's greatest strengths are its mystery, and the personality of the main characters. The book has a main idea: We can see birds anywhere. And we perceive them as normal. But what if all the birds, suddenly, go crazy,will hunt us? what then shall we do?Our lives will change. The auther asks us the question: What happen if all change?

All in all,"The birds" is certainly still worth reading. It will appeal to readers,who wants to remain under the impression from reading. Its my favourite book.
