Dear Mary,
It was great to hear from you. I am sorry I haven't answered earlier but I was too busy with translating the book about Russian peoples from Russian into English.
I will write a bit about my holidays spent in Italy. As I wrote you after participating in the competition among young translators I was lucky to win a trip to Italy. During my fortnight visit I . looked at such sights in Rome as Colloseum, Peter's Square, Vatican museums, Pope's Palace which impressed me most of all. I was astonished by its beauty. In addition. Italian people are so hospitable and friendly. The weather was nice and of course I should mention Italian pizzas and olive oil which are more delicious here than in other place in the world.
Well, I'd better go now as I have to do my homework. I would like to ask you some questions. First of all, can you, if at all possible, send me the books which I lent you last summer? I would very much appreciate if you could. Did you visit India as planned and would you be able to visit me next time you come? I hope to see you soon and I'm looking forward to your reply.
