I just have to write and tell you about my favourite picture. When I was doing
a report about the artists, I met the great works of Vrubel. I saw his paintings,
and many of them were very beautiful. But one of his paintings really
impressed me and I often thought of the hero depicted on it.
The name of this painting is "Demon Seated in a Garden". In this picture I like
both the form and content. The picture is painted flat strokes with the effect
of the crystal faces. It looks very unusual. Also its mysterious plot attracts me.
In the center of the picture there is a demon - the image of the human spirit
and of its inner struggle.
There is nothing demonic on his face: big dark eyes look at the world with
terrible sadness and wisdom, his lips pursed in a bitter grin, black curly hair
freely falls on the shoulders. The demon is depicted with a strong chest and
muscular arms. He is sitting, hugging his knees, and from his despondent-
thoughtful figures breathes some despair. Landscape paintings are composed
of stone colors and stone clouds, which symbolize the loneliness and
alienation. Melancholic stupor of the Demon is so great that he does not
notice the flickering rocks and the beautiful sunset. Bright, vivid, like a
glowing colors, combinations of colours, full of rich emotional, even greater
emphasis to the drama of the story. - не совсем понятна идея.

As opposed to the sky and the earth, and land and water, angels and demons, as contrast and color pictures. - смысл непонятен

This picture made me compassion and sadness to the Demon, but the
idea of this masterpiece evoked my admiration. I would recommend
everyone to see this picture. I am sure it will not leave anyone indifferent.
