Bird watching (=OBSERVING) is a very popular hobby enjoyed by many people around Britain. My friend is a very keen bird-watcher (=OBSERVER), and HE often spends weekends in the countryside where bird watching (=OBSERVING) is much easier. When the electricity went off, it was the last straw, so we packed up and left without seeing a single bird. SO, WE promised never to COME back (RETURN) there.
