Об этом знал только Дарвин и больше никто.

Верил. Правда, под конец стал разочаровываться в этой вере.

К счастью, так мало, что это нисколько не помешало его научной деятельности.

Видимо сначала верил. Позже возможно перестал.
Увидел что жизнь изменяется сама и никакой бог тут не нужен.

Да. Чарльз Дарвин умер христианином, перед своей смертью он читал Святое Писание. Он очень сожалел о том, что некоторые люди, прочитав его теорию о происхождении видов, стали атеистами .
