Chemistry is closely related to biochemistry that deals with chemical processes [of -- замените на "in"] living organisms; geochemistry exploring what occurs in the Earth’s crust [,] and so on.

Не то что бы блестяще, но приемлемо.

man began - как ни странно, правильно (без артикля man = человечество)...
is carbon compounds – animate matter - никаких тире в английских предложениях быть не может, нужны союзы
Дальше там кое-где режет глаз порядок слов в предложениях, предлоги-союзы, но понять можно, это не "Рунглиш"... Подробнее - см. ответ ниже.
