"Look!" he exclaimed and even half-rose. "Here`s my town!" The train was crawling at a snail`s pace, and I had an
opportunity to take a good look at small nice houses surrounded by green gardens.

"And here`s the factory over there," my fellow traveler said in a low voice. Do you remember I`ve told you about it? Have you payed attention to a factory chimney? It`s lofty, isn`t it?" Indeed, the chimney was unusually high for such a little factory.

"Do you want me to to tell you a story related to this chimney? It`s quite far to the station. I`ve enough time." And before my being able to answer, he began: "It happened on the seventh of November. It`s an anniversary of your revolution, but it`s celebrated all over the world, even in our country... In the morning of that day nobody was working at the factory. People
were crowding outside and looking upward, at the factory chimney. A red flag was attached to it at a height of about twenty meters.

It isn`t hot in this area in November: drizzle, wind. And on that day the sky was dark, it was raining.

. И я бы заменил "In the morning of that day " на "That day morning"....
