"Yes."
"You`d become a professional, went to the USA, dived from twenty and thirty metres in a circus there."
Inglls never made an attempt to deny anything, but here he suddenly interrupted the reporter and cried: "Yes, yes! Then I fell ill, came home, was out of work, stole five pounds! That`s all!"
But his words had no effect on the reporter.
"No, that`s not all. The last question: Why have you saved him?"
Inglls did not cry any more. He even tried to smile. "Why have I done it? You see, sport, even professional, teach us to help people."
"And do your professional sport teach to steal?" the reporter asked. Inglls was silent for a moment and answered in a low voice then: "No, it doesn`t, but sometimes it makes."
After a few minutes Inglls was taken away to a police station. The wallet owner insisted on his being let to drive in a police car.
"I`m going to tell them I`m admired by your behaviour and don`t consider you guilty," he said.
The mist was still dense, but here and there the light golden rays of the autumn sun were struggling through it.

"I`m going to tell them I admire your behaviour and don`t consider you guilty," he said.
